What do I need to apply for a payroll advance loan?
Please bring the following to apply: ID, Social Security card, 2 pay stubs, bank statement with 60 days history, utility bill, phone bill, and checkbook. Due to regulations, we can’t offer loans to Department of Defense employees or dependents.
How much can I borrow?
Pawn loans are capped at $750 and payroll advance loans are capped at $500. Being approved for a loan is contingent on a variety of factors including the value of the item you are pawning and your customer history. If applying for a payroll advance, be sure and bring the required documents.
If I have bad credit, can I still get a loan from Alaska Fast Cash or a pawn shop?
Yes. The value of the item you would like to pawn and your customer history with us are the primary factors that we use to approve you. There is no credit check and we don’t call your employer.
I am in need of a short term loan but I am uncomfortable going to a pawn shop.
Many first time customers are anxious about coming to a pawn shop. Our goal is to find a way to loan you the money that you need. It is easier to get a loan from us than other pawn shops. When we can’t provide a loan, it’s most likely due to the item that you bring being unsuitable. We will treat you with respect. If you have any questions, please call in advance and speak to a staff member.
I need a loan but I’m unsure I will be approved.
We want to find a way to make you a loan. Most people are eligible for a payroll advance loan or they have some item of value that we could use as collateral for a pawn loan. You may bring multiple items and receive individual loans that total enough money to meet your need. If you are unsure what items would be good candidates for a loan against, give us a ring.
If I have bad credit, can I still get a loan from Alaska Fast Cash or a pawn shop?
Yes. The value of the item you would like to pawn and your customer history with us are the primary factors that we use to approve you. There is no credit check and we don’t call your employer.
How long are pawn loans and payroll advance loans in Alaska for?
Payroll advance loans are typically 14 day loans and pawn loans are typically 30 day loans. Both loans may be extended when an interest payment is made.
Will you make a pawn loan on my ATV, snowmachine, car, or truck?
Yes. Please call the store or come in. Anchorage doesn’t have room for vehicles, but we do ATVs, snowmachines, and trailers. Wasilla and Fairbanks stores can also do vehicles.
How old do I need to be to get a pawn or payroll advance loan in Alaska?
You must be 18 years old and have valid ID.
If I want to purchase an item in a pawn shop, is the price negotiable?
It is a challenge to price all items for sale in a pawn shop as most items are one of a kind. If you would like to make an offer on an item, please do so. We also frequently have sales, offer layaway, and will work with customers who purchase multiple items. Our business works by giving customers good deals and then loaning the money we receive out again.
Should I sell my item to your pawn shop or take a loan out against it?
You will receive a similar amount of money either way. If you do not intend to come pick up your item, you should sell it to the pawn shop instead of asking for a loan. Customers that redeem most of their loans build up history that allows us to more easily and quickly approve their loans.
I would like to come to your pawn shop but I had a bad experience at another pawn shop.
You are our customer and we want your business. We want to make loans to you and will treat you with the respect that a paying customer deserves. Thank you for giving us a shot.
What can I do when my pawn loan is due but I am not prepared to pay?
Loans can be extended by making a small payment. Generally speaking, we want you to pay off your loan and borrow from us again when you have another short term need and do not want to sell your item to pay off the loan. If you are unable to pay on time, please call and speak to a staff member or come in. We like to hear from our customers and understand life happens.
I am in the military or a military dependent. Can I get a pawn loan?
In most cases, you cannot. This is due to laws that prevent us from making pawn and payroll advance loans to you. You are required to disclose if you are military or a military dependent on our application.
What kinds of items can I use to get a pawn loan?
We are interested in making loans and will consider almost any item of value as collateral for a loan. Items that have a known value like gold, silver, and some firearms are easy to borrow against and easy to bring down to the shop. However, we make loans on all types of items. If you have a question, call before you come in.
